Bone Lesions Case 3 ED Management

ED management starts with appropriate analgesia. Subsequent management plans and disposition depends on cancer status, pain control, and fracture location. These decisions should be made with the patient's oncologist and the consulting orthopedist. Patients without a prior cancer history should be admitted for timely diagnosis and staging. Pathologic fractures should get an orthopedics consultation because many receive palliative fixation.
