Leg/Knee Case 6 Diagnosis

Patella Dislocation

Diagnosis

The diagnosis is made clinically. X rays are indicated after reduction. AP/lateral/sunrise views of the patella should be obtained, even in those that reduced spontaneously. Osteochondral fractures on the medial aspect of patella are common, occurring in up to 40% of patella dislocations, especially in children.
