Pediatrics Case 2 History/Physical Exam

Torus Fracture

History and Physical Exam

History may reveal an axial load mechanism, but many children cannot describe the exact mechanism of injury and may only report falling. If the child is nonverbal or the injury was not witnessed, there may be no history of trauma.

The child may hold the extremity still or refuse to use it. Often there is no significant edema or point tenderness.
