Soft Tissue Case 5 History & Physical Exam

Pain prompting a return visit to the ED should always prompt removal of the original splint or cast so the extremity can be appropriately examined.

Blisters will then be readily visualized, often appearing as large bullae that may be hemorrhagic. Blisters should be evaluated for evidence of superinfection.
