Wrist Case 7 History/Physical Exam

Lunate Dislocation

History and Physical Exam

Fall on an outstretched hand or dorsiflexion of the wrist with ulnar deviation is the usual mechanism.

On physical exam, the patient has significant pain along the dorsum of the wrist and may have an obvious deformity. Careful neurovascular examination may reveal a loss of two point discrimination in the median nerve distribution.
