History and Physical Exam
The predominant mechanism is an extension-type injury from a fall onto the outstretched hand.
Physical examination reveals elbow swelling, tenderness, and limited range of motion. The exam should assess function of ulnar, radial, and median nerves, distal pulses, and signs of compartment syndrome.
