Forearm Case 1 Diagnosis
Galeazzi Fracture
Diagnosis
AP and lateral radiographs of the wrist and forearm will diagnose Galeazzi fractures. Disruption of the distal radioulnar joint is suggested on radiographs by:
- fracture at the base of the ulnar styloid process
- widening of the DRUJ space
- greater than 5mm shortening of the radius relative to the distal ulna.
Comparison views of the opposite DRUJ may aid in diagnosis.
