Clinical Pearl

Isolated distal fibula fractures that are distal to the tibiotalar joint (mortise) are Weber A fractures. These can be splinted in a posterior mold splint (non-weight bearing) or placed in a CAM boot (weight-bearing as tolerated) and follow-up with orthopedics in 1-2 weeks.
